Covers may be thicker than interior pages

  • Folds & Layouts:  Single-fold, tri-fold, z-fold, gate fold, accordion, and custom folds
Layout depends on how information should flow when opened

  • Binding:  Saddle stitch, perfect bound, or coil bound depending on page count and use

  • Quantity: Short runs for events or presentations → larger runs for catalogs and manuals

Sizes & Structure:
  • Brochures (Folded Pieces):  Typically produced as flat sheets that are folded after printing.

  • Booklets & Catalogs:  Multi-page documents assembled into a finished book format.
Binding choice depends on page count and use.  Saddle Stitch: Stapled through the spine, best for lower page counts (generally multiples of 4), Ideal for programs, short catalogs, and newsletters. Perfect Bound: Glued spine with a flat edge, Best for higher page counts, Used for catalogs, manuals, and professional publications. Coil Bound: Plastic coil binding. Lays flat when open. Common for manuals, workbooks, and reference materials.

  • Page Count Considerations: Saddle-stitched pieces require page counts in multiples of four.
Perfect and coil-bound pieces allow more flexibility.
